Name and Gender Change Petitions

Minors can file gender marker and name change paperwork with the participation of one or more parents. The process for minors depends on whether you have a supportive parent or parents.

As of January 2024, courts will automatically seal (keep confidential) petitions filed by minors to change their name and/or gender.
